● Overview
Following a 5 m-wide landslip on the slope between the dwelling and
road, which damaged the carport and part of the house below a steep, 9 m-high, weathered greywacke bank. DTCE assessed the slope and existing debris walls, explained the risks and compared partial- and full-height stabilisation options with the owners.

● Scope
DTCE supported the owners from the initial assessment through investigation, design, consent, construction monitoring and final certification. Our work included a GALENA slope-stability assessment, retaining wall and anchor design, drainage, building-consent documentation and responses to Council, construction monitoring and PS4 certification.

● Solution
A reinforced sprayed-concrete wall, approximately 6 m high, was designed and anchored into the rock to stabilise the slope. Drainage was incorporated to reduce water pressure behind the wall. When vegetation clearance exposed additional loose rock resting against the carport, DTCE immediately instructed its safe removal and extended the wall approximately 1 m. The anchor layout was revised without disrupting the overall design approach.

● Result
The completed works stabilised the affected bank and provided a durable, buildable solution for a difficult and constrained site. Anchor testing, drainage, reinforcement and construction records were reviewed before final certification was issued.
