Structural Review for CoA Approval

2020
DTCE was engaged to assess and support the compliance of previously completed house alterations to assist in obtaining a Certificate of Acceptance (CoA). A CoA confirms that completed construction work complies with the New Zealand Building Code and is typically required where a Code Compliance Certificate (CCC) has not been issued.
The project involved reviewing a two-storey timber-framed dwelling where earlier structural works had been completed without full structural monitoring and sign-off. We carried out a detailed review of the as-built structure, including bracing, beams, and foundations, based on original consent documentation, site investigations, and available records. Where elements could not be directly verified, conservative assumptions were implemented, and the overall structural performance was reassessed. Additional calculations and supporting documentation were prepared to demonstrate compliance, providing a clear and practical pathway for council approval.
