DTCE has been engaged to provide a detailed design for the new garage, including retaining walls, slab and ceiling system, steel beam, and concrete lintels. The project involved careful coordination due to the garage’s proximity to the existing house and neighbouring property, with excavation and foundation design developed to minimise impact on surrounding structures. Concrete block retaining walls were used to support varying ground levels, while a composite concrete ceiling system was introduced to provide both structural support and overall stability. A steel beam was incorporated to support the ceiling, and the foundations were designed to suit site conditions and ensure reliable performance.
The final solution provides a robust and efficient garage design that responds to tight site constraints while ensuring reliable performance under wind and seismic conditions.
