DTCE was engaged to design a new external timber deck connected to an existing dwelling, including both an upper and mid-level deck to create a functional outdoor space. The design carefully responded to site constraints, including a public wastewater drain running beneath the proposed footprint, with foundations configured to span over the pipe and avoid imposing any load on it. Structural elements were developed to ensure stability and performance, including support for a spa pool and measures to manage lateral loads. The solution integrates efficiently with the existing house while maintaining clear access points and providing a robust, practical outcome suited to the site conditions.
