Block Retaining Wall
Wellington
2024
This project involved the design of a 12.5m long block retaining wall along the western boundary, with heights up to 2.5m. Due to varying conditions across the site, the wall was designed in two sections. The boundary section sits directly beside a neighbouring shed, requiring careful consideration of additional loads from the structure. The rear section, located in an open area, was designed to manage sliding risks through a stabilising footing detail.
Each solution was tailored to ensure structural reliability while keeping the design practical and cost-efficient to build.
