DTCE was engaged to review and support the design and installation of a scaffold system to be fully shrink-wrapped for façade and roof refurbishment works. The project involved assessing wind loads associated with the enclosed scaffold, which significantly increase demand on the structure, and determining the required hold-downs, lateral restraints, and tie arrangements where fixing to the building was limited. Following an initial site visit, we carried out calculations and provided design modifications to the original scaffold layout, including details for anchor points and bracing. Multiple site visits were undertaken to coordinate installation strategies, monitor construction, and confirm that required restraints and remedial works were implemented prior to shrink-wrapping.

The completed scaffold system was verified to provide adequate stability under the expected wind conditions, supporting safe and effective construction activities.
